Joopiter Launch
The celebrated musician and songwriter, Pharrell Williams, launched his auctioning website entitled Joopiter back in November 2022. The site contains archival, luxury, and highly customized fashion and other well-sought belongings from the performer and his friends. A large number of possessions have been customized in jewels and gold by Jacob & Co., who’s been collaborating with for a large chunk of his career. The purpose of the website is to “…embrace the energy that is released when objects change hands, and to respect the value that’s been created around these objects” according to Williams. For the past few months, the items on the site have been sold up to the millions and we wanted to take note of the more memorable items that have been auctioned off.
Let's take a look at some of the more notable pieces:
Jacob & Co. N.E.R.D Pendant Chain
Recently purchased by rapper, Drake, for over 2 million dollars, this chain features at the center of its pendant the N.E.R.D squad. The chain has highly been sought after for its innovative usage of diamonds in customized jewelry for its time in 2005.
Oakley Razor Blade
Despite its impracticality, this diamond encrusted pair of Oakley sunglasses with its sleek design will make one feel luxurious wherever they go.
Blackberry 8700
An iconic piece of William’s estate. In the “More is More” era, the symbol of the highly desired Blackberry in 14K gold was everyone’s dream back when it was revealed in the mainstream media.
BAPE STA "Ostrich"
Originally a gift to Williams, these tributes to the Nike Air Force 1’s stand out for their material and one-of-a-kind colorway.
Moncler Puffer Vest
As a collaboration between Moncler and himself, Williams designed this puffer from plastic water bottles after a bulletproof vest. The construction and interior were done through Bionic Yarn & Keita Sugiura respectively.
Sony PSP
Like the Blackberry, the customized 14K gold PSP will make anyone’s gaming experience feel lavish.
Princess Anne High School Drumline Letterman Jacket
William’s letterman jacket is a remnant of his time as a drumline in Princess Anne High School and was featured in N.E.R.D’s music video, “Maybe”.
Striped Polo Shirt
First seen in N.E.R. D’s 2001 music video, “Lapdance”, which was a track from their debut album. Williams was spotted throughout the video matching the somber tone of the music.
Nike Dunk High “N.E.R.D”
In a collaboration between Nike and the artist, emerged the N.E.R.D. Nike Dunk. Through the signature silhouette of the Nike Dunk and the N.E.R.D trademarks, this collaboration marks a milestone in sneaker culture.
Jacob & Co. 5 Time Zone Royal Collection
Jacob, of Jacob & Co., stepped into new territory as this was the jeweler’s first-time creating watches. The previously owned watch of Williams demonstrates the craftsman’s signature, with an 18K gold casing and use of diamonds, 300 specifically.
