Niche Trend Report: Platform Summer Shoes

Flip flops, sandals, trainers, sliders, loafers - we all know a classic summer shoe brightens up any flowing summer dress or linen short, but this year it seems flat is out, and a boost is in.

Platform shoes have been popular for a while now, though the bold combat boot or chunky Mary Janes trends of winter and autumn have trickled into a summer wardrobe staple: a platform summer shoe.

Think platform flip-flops, thick sliders or raised sandals. Leather and suede continue to be the materials of choice - anything else, like nylon or polyurethane, might be unable to handle summer sweat or heat.

Upgrade any summer outfit with the height, valour and confidence these shoes can offer.
