Paris Fashion Week S/S24 Womenswear Recap

Fashion weeks don’t get any better than Paris Fashion Week. Spring 2024 fashion week shows were full of vibrant and innovative shows. Paris hosted over 70 different designers during fashion week.

Fashion Week hosted many classic designers for womenswear such as Dior and YSL, but they had some newcomers like Christopher Eber. This year's fashion week designers showcased unique powersuits, maxi skirts, and chiffon dresses, just some of the trends in Paris.

But designers also showcased many conceptual looks. Terrarium dresses and clothing made out of tin cans were just some examples of these types of looks that were seen at fashion week.

Here are some notable designers that were showcased at Paris Fashion Week:

CHRISTOPHER ESBER

Australian designer Christopher Esber made their debut at this year's Paris Fashion Week. The brand has been known for their bodycon dresses which have been seen on celebrities like Zendaya and Dua Lipa. The collection was inspired by nature and featured a beach-toned palette. Dresses were covered in unique and intentional cutouts. Appearings as though the clothes were stitched together. Crystals and stones were also used throughout the collection as another callback to nature. This collection showcased many innovative dresses that will surely be popping up this spring season.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

Sarah Burton premiered her final collection for Alexander McQueen at this year’s fashion week. The collection was inspired by female symbolism, an homage to Burton herself. Red rose motifs can be seen all over this collection. The collection showcased beautiful craftsmanship through carefully beaded pieces. Power suits and leather corsets were also featured heavily in this collection. McQueen was a clear standout at Paris Fashion Week.

MARNI

Marni was another brand that also made their debut during this year’s Paris Fashion Week. This whimsical collection was filled with color as models walked down the runway in bright shades of pink, yellows, and blue. Prints such as plaid and stripes were also seen all over. Marni’s big highlight of their collection though was the floral sticker ensembles. These pieces looked as if giant stickers were covering the model. Some pieces even had 3D flowers covering them. Marni definitely brought fun and innovative designs to fashion week.

ZIMMERMAN

Pastels are nothing groundbreaking for spring but Zimmerman brought beautiful silhouettes and gorgeous fabric to fashion week. Sheer-flowing fabric was seen following the models as they walked. The collection had a pastel palette of pinks, yellows, and blues. The collection also incorporated athleisure wear as models wore floral skirts paired with matching hoodies. Some pieces were even paired with jeans. This collection had a perfect balance of formal meets casual.

UNDERCOVER

Without a doubt designer Jun Takahashi’s brand Undercover was the most innovative show at Paris Fashion Week. In the brand’s collection, they revealed terrarium dresses with live butterflies and lights inside the dresses. These pieces were a huge standout in Paris. The collection also featured skirts with knitted faces and patchwork suits. All the pieces were truly one of a kind.
