Ready for Combat

Combat boots are a trend that gives us all middle school nostalgia as we recall shoes like Doc Martens. However, combat boots have come back in a big way in high-end fashion. Designers such as Prada and Louis Vuitton have revisited the design and created playful changes to the boot’s structure by adding features like chunkier heels and zippers.

Combat boots are a timeless trend that has evolved from being a punk rock to a fun addition to outfits that complement styles ranging from girly to grunge. It was only a matter of time until this beloved boot style made a return; time to live out all of your 90’s fashion dreams.

Above are some stunning looks from Paris fashion week in October; Both featuring lace-up combat boots. The two outfits have a similar punk/grunge vibe that remains true to the origin of the trend. Leonie Hanne (left) adds a girly touch to her look by holding a small charming handbag and rocking a mini skirt.

It looks like combat boots are here to stay—these shoes can complement almost any outfit and easily transition through seasons depending on how they are styled. A chunky boot can pair perfectly with tights and long pants or a dress/skirt for a contrasted and feminine look (add tube socks if you’re feeling daring). It’s always nice to have a pair of shoes that can pair well with almost any style.
