Camiel Fortgens
Deconstruction, frayed hems, and off-centered prints may describe the unique style of Amsterdam-based designer, Camiel Fortgens. Founded in 2014 upon his graduation from the Eindhoven Design Academy, Fortgens launched the CF brand, creating wearable clothing for unique individuals. Fortgens chose to reject the rules of fashion, looking for the freedom to design and create clothing without the bounds of construction taught in design schools. The CF brand is unique due to its rejection of what we know as normal, everyday clothing. Fortgens puts a twist on the comfortable; reconstructing everyday basics for revolutionized wear. A pulled thread and choppy cut often leave a garment unfinished, but these signature details are what make Fortgen’s unisex designs feel unpolished in a sophisticated, cool way.
For Fortgens, everyday clothing can become an art form. Using proportion and texture, the CF brand generates thoughtful chaos in simple silhouettes. You will never find “basic” clothing staples designed by Fortgens, and that may be what fashion has been missing through the past years. Let’s explore Camiel Fortgen’s latest collection below.

CF’s Mackintosh short jacket is the perfect layering piece. Irregular stitching, a raw hemline, and tiny buttons highlight its quirks, but the simplicity of its shape creates a classic design. Pair it with matching trousers or a long skirt for a cozy, oversized look.
If you value comfort in your clothing, CF’s shorty shorts are the perfect fit. Made out of 100% cotton, they feature a raw elastic waist and a zip-closure pocket. The bright lilac is great for bringing color into your spring wardrobe.
The Relief cardigan is a CF classic, featuring a misshapen hem, loose threads, and a contrasting back panel. The textile is made out of deconstructed, knitted polo collars. Raw details create an interesting design while complimenting the simplicity and sophistication of the cardigan. Pair it with some vintage wash jeans for a laid-back look.
A unique hoodie can transform a simple outfit. CF handprints the design, making each one different. The irregular hem and uneven pockets provide an unfinished look, messing with the shape of a traditional zip-up. CF explores the beauty that comes out of flaws, crafting many one-of-a-kind garments.
CF brings a retro vibe to the classically tailored jeans, featuring tapered legs, raw hemlines, and cozy ,striped cotton velvet. Pair them with a bold graphic tee or a collared shirt.
The tailored tee has an oversized boxy fit that provides comfort and gives a relaxed look. The bold stripes are perfect for summertime and can be paired with jean shorts on a warm day.
The CF Spencer knit vest is the perfect top for spring. The slightly cropped fit hits right below the natural waist. Made out of a soft cotton and viscose blend, layer the vest for a sophisticated occasion or wear it alone to make a statement.
The Patch Shopper is intended as a carry-all city bag, featuring multiple pocket compartments and a laptop sleeve. The structured brown leather and detachable cross-body strap make it the perfect bag for all of your daily essentials.
The utility-style boxy shirt can be worn anywhere from the office, to a night out. The deconstructed hem and oversized pockets bring a playful silhouette to the otherwise boring button-down shirt. In soft lilac and 100% cotton, this top can become an everyday essential in your spring wardrobe.
Made out of deconstructed, knitted polo collars, the Relief Spencer top is extremely oversized. The rich brown color and contrasting blue collar create a unique color pallet for the warm, upcoming seasons. Pair it with long dad shorts and sneakers for a sporty look.
The CF jewel necklace looks as if it’s a treasure of collected gems from the beach. Made out of a combination of Swarovski crystals, pearls, and gems, the elastic necklace is sure to brighten up any outfit.
