Designer Bio

Heron Preston Johnson is the multifaceted designer behind the luxury streetwear brand. As a San Francisco native, he has allowed culture in all forms to be a source of inspiration for his creativity. Fusing his lifelong love of skateboarding and his admiration for hip-hop, the designer continues to push the envelope in the fashion industry.

The Parson’s graduate first gained notoriety back in 2010, alongside Virgil Abloh, Justin Saunders, and Matthew Willaims. The creative group collaborated to produce “Been Trill”; a logo and graphic-heavy streetwear brand focused on mainstreaming underground culture. Although the brand was short-lived, Johnson later found success working as an art director for Kanye West’s, Yeezy.

He launched his first collection, in collaboration with New York’s Department of Sanitation, titled UNIFORM, back in 2016. Since then Johnson has been at the forefront of pioneering what we know today as streetwear. He plays with the idea of workwear meets streetwear while believing sustainability in fashion is crucial.

It really came from just investigating, and mingling, adopting new ideas. The designers dressing like the street kids and the street kids dressing like the designers. There was a lot of kind remixing happening with brands

Inspiration

Inspiration comes from anywhere, a taxi driver, someone who’s working in a restaurant, someone on the street walking their dog, whoever, it can come from anywhere
