Maryam Nassir Zadeh FW21 Campaign Release

The timeless eclecticism of Maryam Nassir Zadeh is known for its uniquely deconstructed elegance. Located out of the Lower East Side of New York City, this vintage-inspired brand mixes of-the-moment designs with its own idiosyncratic predictions to create trend-making ripples. Zadeh takes inspiration from her culture and her grandmother, who owned an innovative Iranian boutique.

The Fall 21 collection was a timeless take on more avant-garde minimalism. Clean cuts and muted palettes are juxtaposed against flashes of skin-baring pieces; making it hard to classify these clothes as business-attire. With references to the ’70s, deconstructed imaginings of casual items, and pops of brightly saturated color, this collection is one step removed from a stiff professional environment.

Zadeh also mentions she took some concepts from Sex in The City’s Carrie Bradshaw with her peppy 2000s trend combinations. The dual references to both the earlier decades and the infamous fashion blogger can be seen in combinations like skirt-and-blazer sets in shiny lavender-esque material and mini-dresses with back-cutouts. Paired with many outfits are colorful wedges featuring large flowers and knee-high riding boots in different fabrics.
