Vivienne Westwood SS22

Vivienne Westwood serves as an emblem for provocative, modern punk fashion. The “Save Our Souls” Spring/Summer 2022 collection is reminiscent of one of her 1998 collections, “Tied to the Mast,” a sailor-inspired line, making this season’s lookbook a perfect fit for today’s prevailing trend of reviving 90’s fashion. Even more astonishing is the designer’s move towards sustainability, with 98% of this line utilizing cruelty-free materials. Below are some of our favorite looks from Westwood’s SS22 collection.

Red hues appear a lot in this collection as a nod towards the sailor’s old adage about red skies. Here’s one of the dress silhouettes combined with the iconic layered pearl chokers.

This flowy dress sprinkled with an eclectic pattern of picture frames and bright hues stand out as one of the most eye-catching pieces.

Denim appears a lot here as well, possibly as a way to represent the fabric’s original use as workwear, further honing in on the sailor theme.

Famous for her corsets, Westwood includes this cutout corset top as a modern addition to her growing collection of such pieces.

This collection includes plenty of plaid fabric pieces. Such blazers and coats are going to be lightweight, wearable pieces for the spring and summer.

Once again, red is the focal point in these pieces. This time, it’s combined with largely printed stripes, another prevailing pattern in SS22.

Though arguably the most simple look in this collection, the drapey silhouette on this look is just as intriguing as the other pieces.
